Shen Yun Performing Arts took to the stage for the third time this year at the Palais des Congrès in Paris on the evening of Jan. 24, captivating theatergoers from all walks of life.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture through classical dance, music and storytelling. Audience members were impressed by the skill and artistry of the performers and deeply moved by the depiction of the divinely inspired culture of “China before communism.”

“The show is absolutely fabulous,” Joëlle Sueur, the former deputy mayor of Issy-les-Moulineaux, said. “I discovered customs from another continent that I didn’t know. I hadn’t realized, at least, how important the Divine is in the lives of the Chinese.

“Everyone who took part was really, really great, with lots of colors, a lot of poetry, and some pretty important messages about the Divine as well. Bravo, truly bravo to the entire company. It’s magnificent, a beautiful evening for me.”

Jean Sold, a former optometrist, said, “I found it dazzling, very beautiful.”

Brigitte Lusiau, a foot therapist, said “I truly enjoyed the special effects, the life in China, and the religious aspects. We deeply, deeply appreciated it.”

“This show really moves me because I have a deep appreciation for Chinese civilization. It immerses me completely, especially with the stunning set designs, bringing to life a world I’ve always imagined but now, get to see right in front of me. It’s incredibly fascinating. It’s exactly what I was hoping for,” Daniel-François Margheriti, a consulting firm owner, said.

“Wow! The dancers are absolutely outstanding, really. The level of professionalism is incredible,” business owner Clara Quintard said. “The performance is truly amazing, I find it very spiritual, it takes you to another world.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world for 20 years. The company draws inspiration from China’s rich cultural heritage before communism. Each performance brings ancient Chinese universal values to life on stage with the beauty and precision of classical Chinese dance and music. Audiences have said they deeply resonate with the stories depicted.

Ms. Sueur said, “So much warmth, so much kindness, so much, let’s call it love, really, in everything that was presented. And there was a real sense of connection in the theater as well. The performance was a huge success. It was greatly enjoyed.”

Ms. Quintard said, “It’s filled with kindness, optimism, and spirituality. Truly, a sense of peace, almost mystical, and at the same time, a message of love, I’d say.”

Mr. Sold said, “I really felt something truly interesting and enjoyable to experience. And as my wife said, next time, we'll come back to see it again.”

After Paris, Shen Yun will perform a series of four shows in Strasbourg, before returning to Paris on May 1. The world's premier classical Chinese dance company also has companies simultaneously touring Asia, Latin American, North America, and Oceania.
