BERGEN, Norway—Shen Yun Performing Arts, the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company, is dedicated to reviving 5,000 years of traditional culture from "China before communism" through classical dance and music. On April 16, Shen Yun took to the stage in Bergen, Norway, on its 2025 world tour.

“The dance was absolutely beautiful. Everyone was absolutely perfect in the timing. It was beautiful,” said Alf Fossdal, a lawyer. “I think the technique and the interaction was very good, everywhere.”

“It's unusual to listen to an orchestra but it's a very comfortable and very relaxing atmosphere. Even though what they do is spectacular, it's very calm and pleasant to watch,” said Mads Skotner, a former gymnast of the Norwegian national team.

“It was very inspiring to see how good the dancers are and the story that is told that we here in the West can't see. It's very fun and I'm impressed by what is shown on stage,” said Truls Lyngås, a business owner. “We both thought it was very fun to watch and experience the instruments we haven't heard before. It's incredible, it's harmonious, and you can play with a lot of emotions. I think it was very fun. It's a completely different experience to get live music in a show.”

Traditional Chinese culture and values have been under threat since the Chinese Communist Party took power in 1949. Through breathtaking choreography and storytelling, Shen Yun brings ancient legends and traditional Chinese values to life.

“It was like a fairytale for me as this takes place far back in time, and they tell the story,” said Hanne-Marit Nordtveit, a dance instructor. “I liked it very much. It gave me a calm, relaxed feeling. I found it calming. With nice colors, pictures, and dance.”

“A very beautiful performance, and I strongly recommend it,” Mr. Skotner said.

Shen Yun will be performing in Linköping, Sweden, on April 23rd.
