On March 29 and 30, Shen Yun Performing Arts showcased the rich cultural heritage of ancient China through classical Chinese dance, music, and storytelling at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Massachusetts, captivating audiences through their display of artistry.

Richard Sorcinelli, a former business owner, said, “Just spectacular. I’ve never, ever seen anything like it, and really enjoyed the costumes. I’ve enjoyed the dance, the coordination, the performers. It’s something that I’ve never had the privilege of experiencing before, and I’m so glad I’m here.”

“Just stunning. It was such grace and power and flow and beauty. It was breathtaking,” said Wendy Kelley, a physician.

Wilson Castillo said, “They are just amazing. The choreography is amazing, everything is in sync, everything is in tune.”

Michelle Keegan, a radiologic technologist said, “It’s beautiful, it’s very stunning. The patterns, the music, everything, the flexibility of the dancers, that acrobatic component of it, it’s amazing.”

Since 2006, Shen Yun has toured the world with a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely-inspired traditional Chinese culture. Shen Yun’s performances also shine a light on the brutal persecution of faith in modern-day China under the Chinese Communist Party, which prevents them from performing inside China to this day.

Mr. Sorcinelli said, “People have no idea what other people are going through, and a communist regime is nothing but brutal, terrible people. What I didn’t understand before, and I’m understanding a little bit better through this performance, is that people are fighting against it, and they’re trying to make people aware of what’s going on.”

“I hope it succeeds, because I know a little bit of history. I know China before communism. I know Mao Zedong ... and it’s a shame what’s happening to the people in China,” said John Swift, a police officer.

“It was an amazing cultural experience. Something that you can’t see anywhere else. Really wonderful opportunity to show the pageantry and the music to our children,” said Jude Kelley, a chemistry research scientist.

Shen Yun will be performing at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts in Northridge, California, on April 8 and 9.
