“We know this is incredibly difficult to hear,” the sheriff’s office said. “What we can tell you is this situation is contained, and there is no ongoing threat to students.”
Authorities said deputies were first dispatched to the campus area after reports of gunfire. Earlier updates indicated uncertainty about the suspect’s status, but officials later confirmed there was no active shooter situation and that the campus had been secured.
The campus, which serves about 250 students, was placed on lockdown shortly after the shooting. Students were transported to nearby Bulverde Middle School for reunification with their families.

Sarah Valdez, a parent of a freshman, said the reality of the situation is sad for students to face.“We got an alert from Comal ISD that the school is on lockdown, and I called my son, even though I knew they’re not supposed to using phones,” she said.
Another parent, Jesse Lopez, said it would be difficult for his daughter to return to school following the shooting.
“That’s going to be hard to do because, for one, she has autism, and she’ll be afraid to go back, she’ll be real afraid to go back,” Lopez said.
Officials said the situation was contained quickly, with multiple law enforcement agencies responding. The school will remain closed Tuesday, and counseling services will be made available to students and families.
“We’re trying to collect as much information as we can from witnesses,” Reynolds said.
