President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15 as part of an effort to bring the war in Ukraine to a close.
Trump has been pushing for a breakthrough to end the war in Ukraine. The announcement comes amid Trump’s growing frustration with Putin and new warnings of additional sanctions.
