A group of U.S. solar manufacturers is urging the Biden administration to impose tariffs on China-linked solar imports.
The group is known as the "American Solar Manufacturers Against Chinese Circumvention, "or A-SMACC. According to Bloomberg, their lawyer has submitted a petition to the U.S. Department of Commerce on Monday, asking to investigate China’s solar industry tariff avoidance.
Wiley, a preeminent Washington, DC law firm, is advising A-SMACC and has filed petitions requesting that the Department of Commerce investigate unfairly traded imports from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam of solar cells and modules that are unlawfully circumventing anti-dumping and countervailing duties on China.
