The United States has a new Cabinet secretary as of April 28. U.S. Vice President Mike Pence  administered the oath of office the 27th secretary of labor for the United States of America, Alexander Acosta. Acosta is the son of Cuban refugees who fled that island’s communist dictatorship as teenagers, married young, and never had a chance to attend college. The American dream was very real to him, he said, because two uneducated immigrants could see their son holding such a high government position. Acosta said he didn’t clearly understand his new job until he tried to explain it to his four- and six-year-old daughters, Delia and Rosalia. When President Trump nominated me, I had to sit down and explain to them that we were, if confirmed, moving to Washington, and they wanted to know why,’’ he told the crowd attending the ceremony. “I said, Daddy helps his students find good jobs, and so the president has asked Daddy to help people all over America find good jobs too. “Supporting Americans’ ability to find good jobs, safe jobs is a priority for President Trump, for Vice President Pence, and for me,” he concluded.
