Fortune has released its list of the 500 biggest companies around the world, and Walmart coming in at number one is no surprise. It has claimed the top spot on the list for eight years in a row.
Amazon landed in third place this year. It is a big leap from ninth place in 2020.
But neither company was the world’s most profitable. That title goes to Apple, which netted $57 billion in profits.
