81 year old man stuns guitar shop staff when he picks up guitar to play

Bob left unsuspecting staff in a music shop speechless when he turned up and performed an amazing solo.

Bob, from Bethpage in Tennesse, turned up at British Audio Service in Nashville and treated witnesses to a rendition of Besame Mucho – a popular Mexican song.

Staff at BAS were so impressed they posted the video on Facebook, captioned: ‘This guy rules. Mr. Bob Wood, ladies and gentlemen.’

When he finishes his performance, a man in the small crowd can be heard laughing and saying, ‘That was awesome’.

Wood, a father of nine, was signed as a regular performer at Jamboree USA in Wheeling, West Virginia, in 1970, his daughter Melanie Wood Moody told Guitar Player.

He played at Jamboree USA for ten years after signing, and has created several albums over the years.

The guitar player was awarded Entertainer of the Year by Eastern States Country Music Inc in 1975 and 1976, and in 2007, he was inducted into the Southern Legends Country Music Hall of Fame.

Based on his Facebook page, he won’t be setting down his guitar anytime soon – he’s still performing regularly.

On October 4, he thanked his friends and family for coming out to a performance on the square in Gallatin.

He called it ‘probably the best show’ he had been a part of at the venue.
