A 9-year-old girl’s rendition of Alicia Keys’s “Girl on Fire” wowed “America’s Got Talent” judges on Tuesday, July 18—and it might be even better than the original.
Angelica Hale earned the show’s “Golden Buzzer,” with Chris Hardwick describing her rendition as “unbelievable.”
“I wanted to become like [popular singers], but instead of doing it for something else, I did it for raising money for the hospitals,” Hale said in the video. She suffered a bacterial infection in a hospital when she was 4, leaving her on life support.
“I won’t forget my experience in my hospital because that is kind of like a centerpiece in my life.”
