GODDARD, Kan.—A baby boom at a Kansas elementary school has gone viral. Seven teachers were pregnant at the same time at Oak Street Elementary School in Goddard when the school posted a photo on Facebook last month with the women showing off their bulging bellies.

“The USD 265-Oak Street Elementary family is GROWING… Seven of Oak Street’s 15 classroom teachers are pregnant,” the post said.

The suburban Wichita school district said the school’s kindergarten classes of 2024-2025 are “growing by the day.”

“We are so excited to welcome these EIGHT little tiger cubs to our #265Family! (Yes, we counted correctly.) Congratulations from all of us here at USD 265,” the post said.

After the photo was taken, two teachers delivered within a day of each other while staying just two rooms apart in the same hospital. One teacher is expecting twins.

Baby Boom 2: More Pregnancies

The stork will be making even more trips to a Maine hospital.

All except one of the nine pregnant labor and delivery nurses at Maine Medical Center showed off their baby bumps in a photo shared widely on social media. The infants are expected to arrive between April and July.

How’s this for a baby boom? Nine of our nurses (8 of whom are in this photo) are expecting babies between April and July! Congratulations!

“After each one of us started to say, ‘We’re pregnant,’ I think it was a happier kind of announcement each time, and we’re all there for each other,” nurse Erin Grenier told WMTW.

The hospital responded to some people’s concerns regarding having enough staff in the summer, commenting, “Don’t worry! We have a plan.”

The nurses have supported each other from the beginning and will continue to do so until they all give birth, according to WMTW.

“It is really nice coming to work and seeing other people who are just as pregnant watching their bellies pop and just talking about these experiences that we are going through together,” nurse Amanda Spear told WMTW.

Not to be outdone, the emergency department announced that 12 nurses will soon become parents, too.

Nurse Melanie Ann Smithgall posted a photo showing nine of 11 pregnant nurses. Two were absent from the photo, along with an expectant father who works as a nurse.

7 Firefighters’ Wives Expecting

Is pregnancy contagious? A North Carolina fire department is going to have a very big family day this fall.

News outlets report photographer Brianna Mitschele posted on her webpage that the wives of seven firefighters with the Salisbury Fire Department are expecting between now and September.

Mitschele said she noticed word of multiple births on Facebook and seized an opportunity to take pictures of the expectant mothers. One photo shows the women in firefighter gear, while another has them each holding onesies representing the respective stations where their husbands work.
