A couple showed their support for President Donald Trump by throwing a MAGA-themed wedding, which sparked a wide range of reactions across social media.

“It looked like America threw up all over my wedding and I’m not sorry,” bride Audra Johnson told Fox 17 News.

The Michigan couple, Audra and Jeff Johnson, celebrated their special day on July 4, surrounded by friends and family all sporting “Make America Great Again” hats.

The couple went full-out for the occasion: reception tables featuring petitions for an anti-abortion bill titled the “heartbeat bill,” the groomsmen’s cufflinks featured “don’t tread on me” slogans, and the bride painted her nails with the American flag.

While the bride did don a traditional white gown for the occasion, she also had a special one she changed into afterwards. Her dress featured President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” across the front, and even had a train with the words “Trump” on it.

“The dress is actually an Andre Soriano original,” Johnson told Fox 17 News. “It’s actually made out of a MAGA flag.”

Soriano is a fashion designer known for his “MAGA gowns,” which have been featured at the Grammys red carpet.

The couple also added the hashtag #MAGAPatriotWedding on all of their photos.

Johnson said in an interview with Fox 17 News she was never particularly political until Trump “came out and said ‘It’s okay to love your country, it’s okay to put the people in your country first, it’s okay to maybe not be politically correct.”

Johnson said that despite her maid of honor being a Democrat, and being uncomfortable about being asked to wear the MAGA hat, that didn’t stop her from joining in the celebration.

“I said, ‘It’s okay. It’s okay. Just wear a red hat. We still love you. We can have completely different opinions about everything and still love each other.'”Johnson said.

Despite it being her wedding day, Johnson said not everyone in the family was receptive.

She said the groom’s father declined their invite, instead sending a text message.

“It said, ‘As long as you support that racist in the White House, I won’t be attending your wedding.’ Which is sad but we did have a lot of people that loved us and showed up,” she told Fox 17 News.

She also shared on Facebook a collection of people’s negative responses, titling it: “The fun begins!”

Needless to say, the post generated plenty of comments, both negative and positive.

One person commented on the post: “I love everything about this wedding! It takes someone with great love for their country and bravery to pull this off as beautifully as you did! The only thing I didn’t like was I wasn’t invited, but I imagine that’s because you don’t know me Haha. I’m sure it was one hell of a party!! Congratulations on your union, may you both be blessed with happiness and health.”

“You looked gorgeous in your dress and loved that you were original in your wedding attire!” another wrote.

Another person wrote, “Congratulations Audra and Jeff. Thanks for standing for our country, our President, the unborn, our liberty and freedom! May God bless you and be stronger together.”
