The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has shared recall notices for several chocolate, cookie, and holiday bark products ahead of Christmas over concerns that they may contain undeclared allergens.

The FDA announced a batch of recalls for various sweet treats on Dec. 23, which may pose serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if consumed. Among them were "Almond Despair" bars from Willy Pete’s Chocolates, which were pulled for incorrectly listing macadamia nuts instead of almonds on the ingredients label, the notice states.

The affected bars were sold at three stores—Curioporium in Southington, Connecticut; Puckerbutt Pepper Co. in Fort Mill, South Carolina; and the Army Barracks location in Saugus, Massachusetts—and feature the UPC code 0 987261 5.

Silvestri Sweets Inc. expanded a previous November recall of its 5-ounce bags of Choceur Holiday Barks sold at Aldi stores across the country.
The Cookie Butter Holiday Bark may contain pecans, while the Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon flavor may have wheat. The updated recall includes additional lot numbers and "best by" dates that weren't initially listed by the company.

"The expanded recall was initiated after it was discovered that the Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark had been packaged in Cookie Butter Holiday Bark packages resulting in undeclared pecan," the notice reads. "Subsequent investigation indicates the problem may have been caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging process."

Silvestri Sweets urged consumers to discard the holiday bark products.

Baltimore-based food retailer Atwater’s pulled almost 200 cookie tins for risk of undeclared pecan, almond, and walnut allergens.

The affected products were sold from Dec. 13 to Dec. 22 at various stores in Baltimore, Towson, and Catonsville, Maryland.

Gregory’s Foods Inc. also recalled its "Bag Full of Cookies" White Chocolate Macadamia Nut frozen cookie dough.

The Eagan, Minnesota-based company said its Frozen Monster Cookie Dough, which contains peanuts, may have been packaged in bags that feature the macadamia nut label. The 2-pound 8.5-ounce packages display a "best by" date of Dec. 6, 2026, and were sold at various grocery stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.

On Dec. 22, the FDA also flagged a recall announcement for Troemner Farm's 6-ounce and 12-ounce Pfeffernusse Cookies for potentially containing undeclared milk, wheat, and soy ingredients. The cookies were sold in stores throughout the Michigan towns of Hancock and Calumet.

"This missing labeling was revealed during routine inspections," the notice reads. "Subsequent investigation indicates missing labels were a cause of human error."

The FDA noted that no illnesses have been reported for any of the aforementioned products to date.
