Japan’s famous figure skater retired without looking back. Champion figure skater Mao Asada spoke about her career at a news conference, “I have given it my all, mentally, physically, and even all my energy; I have met my challenges and I have no regrets.”

Asada is an Olympic silver medal winner. She is also a three-time world champion.

She also spoke about her wishes after retirement, “I owe figure skating a lot. So, while I don’t know what form it will take, I want to repay my debt to figure skating in one way or another.”

Asada is the only woman to ever land a triple axel jump three times in competition. She is retiring at the age of 26.
