Paris Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, has broken her silence regarding allegations of sexual abuse against her father in HBO's documentary "Leaving Neverland."
She said that it wasn't her role to do so.
In the earlier tweets, Jackson had written that the media had painted her in a negative light. Fans rushed to comment on her post, telling her to be strong.
Jackson had also posted several tweets that hinted that the documentary may have an impact on her work. She did not refer to the documentary by name, however.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, she wrote, "I actually haven’t made any statements yet, especially regarding how it affects my work life. you guys are reaching a bit. at least this wasn’t a disgusting and attacking article though," reported PEOPLE.
"The bigger picture is your father’s legacy ruined and his name smeared forever but whatever though," the person tweeted back.
In the same tweet, she said her cousin, Taj Jackson, was doing a perfect job, and that she supported him. While she was taking a more laid-back approach, her cousin was more vocal about defending the late Michael Jackson.
Jackson Family's Statements
Taj Jackson took a stance against the allegations within the documentary and called it a "one-sided hit job," according to PEOPLE.In addition to his defense, he revealed that he was working on his own documentary, where he would be presenting the alleged facts and will be conducting interviews with people who had previously accused Michael Jackson.
"This is not going to be a puff piece," Taj Jackson said, "it’s not going to be, 'Oh, let’s show Michael Jackson the humanitarian.' This is about exposing all the things that have been mustering for 20, 30 years."
"Facts don't lie, people do," it stated.
