Newly released pictures show a pickup truck getting sideswiped before flipping and landing on another car.
Arizona officials said it’s remarkable no one was hurt in the multi-vehicle crash, which took place in Prescott on Oct. 7.
“Firefighters were surprised to find a crash scene right out Hollywood on Williamson Valley Road,” the Prescott Fire Department said in a press release.
They arrived to find the white truck on top of a red sedan.
“The woman driving the white pickup reported to firefighters that she had been headed northbound on Williamson Valley Road when a black truck traveling alongside her made contact with her, causing her to lose control. She reported that she then traveled into oncoming southbound traffic, where she collided with the black car. This impact caused her truck to flip through the air, where she then landed on top of the red sedan,” the department stated.
The third vehicle involved in the wreck, a black truck, suffered visible damage, witnesses said.
But the driver of the black truck left the scene before officials arrived. Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
Officials added that everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt, which likely saved their lives.
“There were two occupants in the red sedan, and one each in the black car and white truck. Most remarkable, no one was injured in this incident. All the people involved were wearing their seat belts. This is the second accident this week where the use of seatbelts has helped avert a tragedy and firefighters would once again like to remind everyone that the use of this simple device saves lives daily,” the fire department stated.
A woman commenting on a local Prescott news website, Judi Williams, said that she was in the red sedan with her husband.
“We are so blessed to have gotten out without anything more than a few bumps and bruises. To say that God was watching over us is an understatement,” she wrote on Prescott News.
“My thank you to all the fire and police departments who helped. I would also like to thank the several citizens who stopped to offer help.”
