Justin Bieber challenged Tom Cruise to a fight in his latest Twitter post. He said he wants to contend with the veteran actor in a UFC-style octagon.
“I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite?,” Bieber wrote on Twitter on June 9.
Tom Cruise has yet to respond to Bieber. While waiting for Cruise to answer the challenge, others in the mixed martial arts and boxing realm have commented.
The official Twitter account for UFC Canada responded to the tweet with an eyes emoji.
Mixed martial artist Bobby Nash pointed out a key difference between Bieber and Cruise.
“You're calling out a 56 year old man lol,” Nash wrote on Twitter.
“I got you @GoldenBoyBoxing,” wrote boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.
UFC head Dana White, mentioned in the tweet, has yet to respond.
The outlet reported that Cruise is 56 years old, 5 foot 7 inches, and could be anywhere from 148 to 170 pounds.
Boxer and MMA star Conor McGregor jumped into the online discussion.
“If Tom Cruise is man enough to accept this challenge, McGregor Sports and Entertainment will host the bout. Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!” wrote McGregor on Twitter.
Cruise is set to appear in next month’s “Mission: Impossible—Fallout.” He is also set for a sequel to his 1986 hit, “Top Gun,” which is scheduled for a 2020 release.
Cruise is also scheduled for a couple more “Mission: Impossible” sequels, for 2021 and 2022. He is also rumored to be making a sequel to “Edge of Tomorrow.”
Bieber’s latest releases are a duet between him and Ed Sheeran titled “I Don’t Care,” as well as a song with Gucci Mane titled “Love Thru the Computer.”
“All sorts of dates have been talked about, having it on their one year anniversary makes a lot of sense to both of them so that’s a real frontrunner,” the source said. “Nothing is set in stone but the wedding will happen, it’s very much underway.”
