Madeline Summerville, national trial attorney and former Democratic speechwriter, and Christian Briggs, chief executive officer of Hard Asset Management Group, joined a panel discussion with NTD.

The panel discussed the long lines at U.S. airports, with some TSA agents not coming to work while they are unpaid, and the Congressional gridlock over DHS funding and changes to ICE.

Summerville says Republicans will be blamed for not accepting proposals to fund the TSA alone. Briggs says Republicans are being hurt more by the government shutdown, and that this is not the battle they should be focusing on with the ongoing war in Iran and high gas prices.

The panel also reacted to the jury’s verdict that found Meta and YouTube liable for addiction in children.

Summerville says the verdict is a victory for Americans and that the law needs to catch up with reality. Briggs says there should be no law that keeps bad actors immune, they should be prosecuted and pursued, and children should never be a target for anything. Briggs calls for restrictions and borders on social media.
