Hundreds of Filipino activists marched toward the Chinese embassy in Manila on Tuesday, denouncing what they described as the CCP’s “aggressive militarization” of the South China Sea.

The protest stemmed from a recent series of aggressive maneuvers by the Chinese Coast Guard, including harassment of Philippine resupply missions, the confiscation of supplies meant for Philippine army personnel, and obstruction of medical evacuations in the region.

The demonstration took place on the eve of the Philippines’ independence day.
