Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are engaged!
The "Jurassic World" actor announced the engagement in an Instagram post early Monday, Jan. 14. He wrote, "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"
How They Met
Although the two have only been together since last June—having met through Schwarzenegger's mother, Maria Shriver—sources close to the couple reveal this is by no means just some whirlwind romance."They're both serious about the relationship and hopeful for the future," a source close to the couple told People. "Chris doesn't just date to date, and neither does Katherine. She's very excited."
"Chris and Katherine are very happy together," another source said. "They're very compatible and have a lot in common."
Despite all the rumors and public outings, the two only made their relationship official to the public in mid-December. The "Parks and Recreation" star posted a collage of photos of Katherine to celebrate her 29th birthday.
"Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I've cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care," he wrote.
Recently, Pratt helped Schwarzenegger move from her Santa Monica, California home. He posted a sponsored video about his hardy truck joking in the caption that "picking up heavy things and moving them into the back of a truck was my major in college!" Pratt also spoke about his new Chevrolet Silverado truck in the video, choosing to talk in his character Emmet's voice from the upcoming "The Lego Movie 2."
Second Marriage
The engagement comes over a year after Pratt announced his separation from Anna Faris after almost nine years of marriage. After trying really hard for a long time they weren't able to make their marriage work, according to People. Pratt and Faris settled their divorce in November 2017 and each waived their right to spousal support. That means they'll continue to co-parent their son Jack, provided they live within a 5-mile radius of each other until their son completes the sixth grade. The split seemed amicable as they were spotted on Halloween together with their significant others. They took Jack trick-or-treating with Pratt sticking close to Schwarzenegger and Faris holding hands with her cinematographer boyfriend, Michael Barrett.
"It seems they all get along really well," a source told People about the Halloween outing. "Everyone had a good time. They were making an effort to make sure Jack had a great Halloween."
Faris recently opened up about the end of their marriage and what it's like to co-parent Jack now that they've both moved on with different people.

When Faris found out about the engagement to Schwarzenegger, she wrote: "I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!"
Congratulations indeed to the newly engaged couple!
