A Florida student was placed in police custody after allegedly trying a potentially dangerous wrestling move on his high school principal, according to reports.
The high school senior, Gianny Sosa, was arrested on Wednesday, April 11, at Miami Southridge Senior High School, according to an NBC report, citing Miami-Dade Police sources.

Sosa made a court appearance on Thursday, during which the teen’s defense lawyer called the arrest report “hands down one of the most insane” he had ever seen, the Miami Herald reported.
The 18-year-old left jail on Friday after posting a $750-dollar bond, according to NBC.
The ‘RKO’
In a bizarre incident caught on camera, Sosa allegedly put his arm around the neck of Principal Humberto Miret in a wrestling move known as an “RKO.”
The move—made famous by WWE wrestler Orton—involves looping an arm around the neck of an opponent and driving their face into the ground.
Video appears to show Sosa going for an RKO on the principal, who ducks out of the attempted move and instead seems to put the student in a chokehold and then shove him.
“What I did, it wasn’t intentional. I wasn’t trying to hurt nobody,” Sosa said after his release from jail Friday, according to NBC.
“I understand he had to use some force cause he might be worried,” the teenager told the news outlet, adding, “but the situation escalated when he took me into a private classroom with no cameras and continued to use force.”
Sosa posted video footage from inside the classroom on his Instagram account.
It shows Miret speaking into a walkie talkie, keeping Sosa at bay with his outstretched arm, while the teenager complains about being “touched.”
“Oh, now that I’m recording, you don’t want to touch me? You don’t want to hit me now?” Sosa asks the principal, the video shows. “It’s crazy, ain’t it? Now that the camera has your face, you don’t want to hit me. Now that the superintendent might see this, you don’t want to touch me.”
Miret is heard in the video telling Sosa to “Put the phone down” and “You don’t have the right to record me.”
“I’m recording myself. Don’t touch me, though,” Sosa is heard saying.

The teenager reportedly told NBC he had joked around with the principal before. His Instagram account shows him pulling off a range of stunts that include climbing onto a shelving unit at a Walmart and diving into a silo with inflatable balls.
In one post filmed in what appears to be a mall, Sosa is seen leaping into an artificial wildlife enclosure, grabbing a plastic alligator and slamming it down, yelling, “RKO!”

Sosa’s family told NBC Thursday that he was joking around with the principal and didn’t intend any harm.
School officials said in a statement that they were treating the incident seriously.
“It’s unfortunate that anyone would instigate a situation for self-promotion that could bring harm to others. Instances of disruptive and threatening behavior will be handled swiftly and result in severe consequences,” Miami-Dade County Public Schools said in a statement obtained by NBC. “In addition to an arrest, the student’s lack of judgment will result in disciplinary actions in accordance with our Code of Student Conduct.”
Sosa was charged with battery on a school official and interference with an educational institution, according to WPLG.
