WILBER, Nebraska—A man accused in the 2017 slaying of a Nebraska woman slashed his neck and fell from a wheelchair during his murder trial.
Aubrey Trail yelled “Bailey is innocent, and I curse you all,” on June 24 before swiping something across his neck in the courtroom in Wilber, 35 miles southwest of Lincoln. Deputies rushed to help as Trail lay bleeding on the floor.

It is unclear when the trial will resume, or how badly Trail is injured. Authorities say he’s had a stroke and two heart attacks since his arrest.
Court records say 52-year-old Aubrey Trail entered the plea before jury selection began for his murder trial.
The Omaha World-Herald reports that Nebraska Assistant Attorney General Sandra Allen made the remarks June 18 in her opening statements in the murder trial of 52-year-old Aubrey Trail. Allen said Trail and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Bailey Boswell, used online dating app Tinder to meet 24-year-old Sydney Loofe, then killed her within days, dismembered, and disposed of her body in rural Clay County. Allen told jurors it was a planned abduction and killing.
Trail’s attorney, Joe Murray, told jurors that Trail was “not a particularly nice man” but that Loofe’s killing was an accident.
Trail has said Loofe died at his hands accidentally and that he tried to get rid of her body because he didn’t think law enforcement would believe him.
Boswell awaits trial.
What Had Happened To Sydney Loofe
A missing Nebraksa woman, Sydney Loofe, who gained national attention in recent weeks after her disappearance—has been found dead, the family reported.
The 24-year-old from Lincoln was first reported missing on Nov. 16 after going on a date the night before with someone she met online.
Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister confirmed that a body had been found that they believe to be Loofe during a joint press conference with the Omaha division of the FBI on Tuesday morning.

The body was located in an open area in rural Clay County, authorities said on Dec. 4. Bliemeister said Loofe’s digital footprint led the Nebraska State Patrol to the discovery.
According to CBS affiliate KMTV, her cell phone was last pinged in the area of Wilber, Nebraska, where the search was centered earlier in the week. That was also where she was last seen.
Bliemeister said Bailey Boswell, 23, and Aubrey Trail, 51, remain persons of interest in the case because they were the last ones to see Loofe, adding that they are not suspects at this point in time.
Sydney is the daughter of George and Susie Loofe from Neligh, according to Antelope County News.
